One day private tour to Florence via Arezzo and the Chianti countryside
a 7- hour car and walking tour throught the artistic and natural beauties of Tuscany. Arezzo is pleasantly situated on a low hillside, and it looks over the narrow plain where the valleys of Valdarno, Casentino, and

Valdichiana converge. It is a lively agricultural provincial town, with several notable churches and interesting museums. Arretium was one of the more important of the 12 cities of the Etruscan Confederation. It was originally the enemy and later the faithful alley of Rome.It emerged as a free republic in the 10th century, and it submitted to Florence in 1384. Among its eminent citizens were Maecenas (died 8 BC), the friend of Augustus and the patron of Virgil and Horace; Guido d’Arezzo (995 – 1050), the inventor of the musical scale; Petrarch, the poet (1304 – 74); and Giorgio Vasari (1512 – 74), the architect, painter, and art historian. In the Church of St. Francis is the famous fresco cycle painted by Piero della Francesca. After lunch in a typical restaurant, we will reach Florence via en route in the hilly region of Chianti, where the world-famous red wine called Chianti Classico is produced. The road traverses beautiful countryside past vineyards and olive groves surrounding the typical, elegant farmhouses known as case coloniche.

The tour includes car pick up from the hotel in Rome, transfers to Arezzo, typical restaurant (meals not included in the price), Chianti district, hotel in Florence.

Driving times: from Rome to Arezzo 2 hours and 15 minutes, to Florence 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The tour is for a party of max 4 people, or party of max 8 people; and it includes private car transfers, fluent speaking English driver, private guide in Arezzo (2 hour tour), and site tickets.
