Near the village, dominated by the majestic Malvezzi Castle, you will find the ruins of the ancient church and abbey of S. Maria del Piano. After tasting the local products in a typical restaurant at lunch time, we reach Monteleone Sabino the ancient roman town of Trebula Mutuesca, where the archaeological museum and the ruins of the forum and the anfitheatre are situated. Also worthy of a visit is the medieval village of Monteleone, the Church of S. Vittoria, Romanesque building of the XII century, founded on the site of a pre-existing roman temple. |
