Tuscan Wanderlust
A fresh approach to a familiar region - 8 Days:
Our Tuscan journey traces time-worn routes linking Etruscan Cortona with
Medieval and Renaissance Siena and explores the
golden-green, barren hills in between, dotted with
hilltop towns and ancient abbeys. Our senses experience
a true rebirth as we stroll past abundant valleys of
silvery olive groves, glowing meadows of poppies and
irises, and fields laced with fruitful vineyards or
waves of golden wheat. Samplings of homemade Tuscan culinary delights include ribollita, papa al pomodoro (vegetable soups), pici and pappardelle (pasta), arrosto and other assorted meats.
Each
day's leisurely pace is interspersed with wine and food
tasting, visits to historic, picture-perfect villages
and inevitable encounters with the locals who share
their heritage as we roam the cypress-lined lanes.
