The estate of Rocca delle Maće extends for six hundred hectares in the heart of Chianti. At the beginning of the seventies it was purchased by its present owners, who immediately started the restoration of the ancient buildings of the village and gave vigor to the agricultural community, planting new vineyards and olive trees. The farm dates back to the 14th century, as does it's Torrione complex and the vacation residences. A rugged country road leads to the complex, it seems to get lost in the country until the view opens to reveal this magical spot, where the rolling hills seem to extend endlessly toward the horizon. A gathering of old farm houses sits on the top of the hill, a typical example of the rural architecture of this area. The vacation residences of Rocca delle Macie are found in Il Torrione, a characteristic medieval structure beautifully restored in keeping with it's ancient heritage. The six apartments, each named after the various wines of Rocca delle Maće, have private entrances, and wood burning fireplaces, the perfect accent for their rustic tuscan style.

The entrance to Casato is also through the interior Torrione garden, but most windows overlook the swimming pool adjacent to Rocca delle Macie's vineyards. The entrance leads direct into the family room that features a beautiful fireplace in exposed red brick. The two bedrooms, which share a large bathroom with shower cubicle, are large and full of light and make the apartment a really pleasant place to stay.
